My favorite season of the year

when talking about my favorite season of the year i have to say winter, the month of november and december. it is cold but that make a good excuse for the family to gather around the fire place and just sit aroudn the circle and talk about things happening in the past and what everyone is up to in the upcoming year. i really like to have relaxing conversation with family members and disccused everything we can possibility think of. the other thing i like about winter is becasue it's where all the hollidays are Novermber we have thanksgiving. although it is not a chinese tradation but my mom would fix some desserts out of pumpkin. One of my all time favorie is rice cake. it smell sweet when it is brought out the steamer. it taste really good when you sliced it and satuteed with vegetable,eggs, meat. i got to say rice is a big part of my life, without it i can not survive in planet earth. when December is heading in, automatically i know it's time for chirstmas and snow. i do celebrate christmas, i don't know about other people. the way i celebrate it is i will save some money before that and when it is on christmas day, i will use those money to get myself something that i have pray for a long time, last year i got my self a mp3 player. it might sound silly but i enjoy it. just get me into the holliday mood. every year before christmas i try to think of something to give to my friends as christmas present, i remember last year i baked some cookies, i don't know what i will be doing this year, maybe someone can give me some advice.

Love is blind

i think this statement is true sometimes , when you are in love you tend to have the feeling that everything around you is not important anymore. and i guess i don't really have a experience in my life yet cause i haven't been deeply falling in love with someone, but if i do i will probably be one of those people who see love as important as life. i know my personality that i'm not those people who will easily fall in love with someone else but if i do that will mean a lot to me. i think the reason people have quoted "Love is Blind" in a love relationship any decision you make is not being clearly thought about.

freedom writers

recently i watch a video in sociology class and it just really influence me. so i decided to write something about the movie, so for those of you who haven't watch it, you might find it interesting to want to rent it at movie store.

The story is about how a newly freshmen teacher name Erin Gruwell teach at Wilson high school in long beach, California. Her class is consist of a diverse group of people from different walks of life—African American, Latino, Asian, juvenile delinquents, gang member, and underprivileged students from poor neighborhoods hope for nothing but to make through their days. Probably the most common thing they all share is their hatred for each. This hatred was not born within them it is through their every day life and what happened around them that influence these teenagers to hated people of different race and ethic background. Because it is what they have to do support people of their own type. These teenagers hate school because the teachers didn’t really care about them, when Erin saw this situation, she tries various way to engage them on daily basis. But then ghetto reality steps in to focus of the picture, a gang shooting is witnessed by a Latina gang member in Erin’s class, and an ugly racial cartoon is pass around Erin’s classroom to humiliated one of the student is class. Erin decide to make a transformation in the classroom, she compel them to listen, she force herself to take off herself’s idealistic blinders and start to take in the students survival stories of their undeclared war in their life. Erin connect with her students through music from Hood, and literature from another kind of ghetto, the Dairy of Anne Frank, and with these simple tools she opens her students eyes to experience of those suffering intolerance throughout the world and struggles of those outside their own communities. Knowing that every one of her students have a story of their own, Erin encourage everyone of them to keep up a journal or dairy of their thoughts and experiences. After sharing their story the students for the first time realized that they have shared the same experiences. And this is when all the things start to change because they open up the idea that there are possibilities in life outside of making it to the age of eighteen. After all Erin have an idea to combine all stories to create a dairy call Freedom Writer to be published. This dairy is an inspirational tale and testimony to courage, hope and the spirit’s triumph over intolerance. It let people to all meet a common idea that we are in fact all human being. I feel related to the character in the movie that sometimes I do feel it is difficult for me to blend in with the diverse group of people in school, because I am a Asian. Unlike the teenager in the movie which they have to face the struggles of hatred of other, my struggle is the ability to learn the English language, and the culture of the new countries. But I am very glad people in my school are very friendly towards the foreigner and they are interested in learn more about my original culture.

Money

very few people know by now what they really want to get out of from their life, because majority of people belive that if you have money, they can do what every they wanted. not only did they lose the quality of living but they also misunderstood the real meaning of money. people tend to have a wrong images about money, and among them there are some ridiculous ones. For a long time people have been control by the pleasure the materialism will bring us. we are constiounously chasing after wealth, luxury, and set saving money as one of our goals in life, people believe once you have money you can also get all the joy. truth is money can really help us in our everyday living. but money is not acutally as important as you thought it might be. the most common views people have about money is money can bring them happiness. but in the real world more money can not only bring you unhappiness, it is also the begining of hatred and jealous. another way people misunderstood about money is, people see money as a way to secured their living and buildig the basis of security, but while they are doing that they tend to think this is the only purpose of life and use all you time in order to reach the goal. If you see money as security for life, then you have a problem with money, because the most important security is love , friendship and family, these are the real security that you can not buy with Money.

Stress

it's just the begining of the year, and i am already stress out about some of my AP classes. especially my government class, i have absolutely no idea how the government function in United Statea and when it is time to write an essay about it, i am clueless. so yesterday i check on my grade, i cry. it terrify me. i think from now on i will study every night, but the problem is i have to work on certain days and it is impossible for me to study while working. i feel like i am hopeless, and i am scared to take my next test and fail it again. i really feel like my life is a mess now.

About me

This is my first time using Blog, truly I don’t know how it will work. I mean I have seen other people’s Blog before but never have the interest to creat my own Blog. So before I forgot I think I should tell everyone else (people who will read my Blog) something about me. There were four people in my family, my dad, mom, and my older brother, yes I am the youngest in the family. My family move from China to America when I was at age of 11. And yes I am bilingual( I am able to speak influence in Chinese and a little English). So if you want to leave any comments in chinese I will be able to read it. The only things that I am good at is probably Art, I love to draw different objects and creating Art. It is always interesting to see what your mind can come up with. During my free time I would listening to all kind of musics. They were in different languages such as Chinese, Korean, Japanese, English, French. I wouldn’t consider myself an outgoing person. and this can cause a lot of trouble especially in making new friends. So now I am trying really hard to step out of my box and get to know everyone.

the place in your memory

No matter where you are now there will always be a place in your memory that you remember the most. For me that place got to be my elementary school in china, it is one of the most beautiful place in the world. this is the place where i learn and progressed. i got a chance to walk through the school this summer, As i walk through each classroom those memories of the childhood would flash by like a film. i remember how i cry, fight,joke and of course laugh among my classmate. how wonderful is was back then. if it were possible i wish i could travel back in time. but i think it will only come ture in my dream. apart for 9 years my friends that i have in elementary school are still my friends now. that's why i believe friendship would never dissappeared due to time. most of them are in america, some attend college while other already start working. Once in a while we will gather together and party. It was alway nice to see how everyone had change over the years. i got to learn more thing about them. i think one thing every person should feel lucky is the ability to have friendships, it is the most valuable thing anyone could ever wish for.
